Who We Are
Richard Soan Roofing Services has been at the heart of roofing across Sussex and the South East since 1988. Founded in Lewes, East Sussex, the business has grown into one of the region's most respected roofing contractors — working with domestic clients, commercial and industrial occupiers, heritage properties, and local authorities.
Our track record of award-winning workmanship speaks for itself. At the 2019 UK Roofing Awards, we were announced as winners in the Roof Tiling category — a national competition hosted by the NFRC. Earlier recognition came in 2012, when our work at Folkington Manor took the top prize for Best Roof Slating. More recently, our roofing project at Solent Junior School was shortlisted at the 2023 UK Roofing Awards, and in 2026 we are proud to be finalists for our work at All Saints C of E Church and at the Ferry Footbridge Control Tower.
Away from the national stage, the Lewes District Business Awards have recognised us three times — for Best Customer Service in 2018, Business of the Year in 2015, and Richard Soan as Business Person of the Year in 2016. We are also proud to hold Investors in People accreditation, reflecting our commitment to the people behind every project.
